Since his admission to practice in 2009, the majority of Mr. Field’s practice has focused on professional liability defense. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Field’s work focused almost exclusively on the defense of physicians in health care liability cases.  Since joining the firm, the scope of Mr. Field’s practice has broadened, with an emphasis on the representation of attorneys in alleged malpractice cases.  In addition to legal malpractice actions, Mr. Field has defended a number of attorneys and law firms in Fair Debt Collection Practices Act cases in federal court.   Mr. Field is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Knoxville Bar Association.

Mr. Field is a native of Charleston, West Virginia.  He moved to his wife’s hometown of Knoxville in 2007 to attend law school at the University of Tennessee, from which he graduated cum laude in 2009.  During law school, Mr. Field was a judicial intern with the Honorable Robert B. King on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, was an editor for the Tennessee Journal of Law & Policy, and participated in the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Field was a teacher at the International Division of Shanghai High School in the Xuhui District of Shanghai, China.  Mr. Field currently resides in the Island Home Park neighborhood in South Knoxville with his wife and two daughters.
